Family sessions in the park are my favourite kind of child shoot. The children are relaxed because the park brings them freedom to roam and parents are relaxed because the park is safe. So happy children equals happy parents!
Lucie and Daryl are parents to 3 year old Noah and 1 year old Harrison. Lucie is a very creative mum boss, mixing child rearing with graphic and web design. Check out lucieselby.com, whilst Daryl Selby is a mega talented international professional Squash player. So it comes as no surprise that their offspring are very active! The park gave us the perfect backdrop to convey their energy, fun and dynamism! Even little Harrison, who had just started walking wanted to show off his new skills.
A Gruffalo hunt also gave us the perfect reason to keep exploring, so there was no time for boredom to set in and perfectly timed snacks bring a great distraction. Lucie was slightly concerned as Noah and Harrison were a little under the weather. But as you can see from these beautiful pictures there was no sign of illness dampening their spirits on our shoot day. My job is to keep you all relaxed, happy and occupied. I want your smiles to be real, there’s no room for imitation on one of my shoots. So if you are worried about how your children or even how a camera shy grown up might feel around a photographer. Don’t worry, I can assure you you will all have fun with me! Fun is my top priority for making you feel less self conscious and more relaxed. By the end of the shoot you’ll even forget there’s a camera there, and we’ll be firm friends. So don’t put off that family shoot you’ve dreamed about. Let’s capture those family images now – your frames are waiting. I can’t wait to meet you! Oh and Noah never did find the Gruffalo – next time!
