Is Alison Hammond really the nicest woman in telly or not?!

Is Alison Hammond really the nicest woman in telly or not? I’ve known Alison Hammond for well over 15 years when we first met at ITV and I can categorically say she is EVEN nicer than you think she will be. She really is the nicest woman in telly!

Quite often people aren’t always as they seem in their telly persona, sometimes there’s a subtle mismatch with how they really are and how they want you to see them. Not with Alison, she is as authentic and gorgeous as she seems. Not in a showbiz way but in a brilliant Brum way. If you want the real Alison you will see it on daytime telly or bake off in the same way as you see her on TikTok. She’s always just real. 

I first met Alison when we worked together in promos and features at This Morning. She was always sunny and bright, even when we asked her to ice skate and she broke her ankle during a piece to camera – sorry Ali!
I’ve travelled around the world with her and we had as much fun in Blackpool as Barbados. She’s always a true professional even though she can’t say “fabulous” correctly and you have to retake a shot 265 times because she gets the giggles. And my god does she have a big laugh! She’s always falling over, falling off things or knocking things over. But, she won’t ever forget to ask how you are and we have the same filthy text sign off today as we did the first time we ever spoke. And no it’s way too rude to write here. She has never changed no matter how glam, famous or in demand she is.
To prove it she threw a party hosted by the amazing @Maybelline at Hakkasan in Mayfair (one of my fave restaurants). But, the party wasn’t for celebs and A list telly folk, it was for her friends, assistants, drivers, make up artist, nail lady, hair stylist, stylist, industry insiders, family and old school Big Brother friends. Kate Lawler and PJ are just as lovely as Alison, you can see why they are still such close friends.
She just wanted to get her gang together to say thank you and have a little party. Although there were a few faces there you might recognise. 

The best bit for me was she asked me along to photograph the event but I was told by the PR team that Alison insisted I eat and sit next to my oldest best friend from This Morning. I love my job so much but often as a photographer you are slightly invisible on the outside looking in to capture the moments. However, on this night I was truly seen and Alison even thanked my in her speech, it was very special indeed. So it’s my pleasure to vouch for her being THE nicest woman in telly! You simply won’t find a more beautiful human.
