Easter inspiration and pastel perfection

Blogging, Business photography, Children, Family, Lifestyle, product photography

Hip Hop Hooray Easter inspiration and pure pastel perfection is here. I’m super egg-cited to show you all the pics from my latest Easter shoot, a collaboration with Essex’s finest creative talents. (Sorry about the puns I just can’t help myself- I have the same problem with Mini Eggs too!) If you love pretty pastels, beautiful blooms, funky fashion and super cute kids you are in for a treat. Surely it can’t be pure coincidence that these stunning pastel tones are also very similar to Cadbury Mini Eggs! It is Easter afterall, and there can never be enough chocolate!

The uber talented Sophie from Fable and Moon creates the most wonderful styling for parties and events in and around Essex. The amazing sculptures she creates with balloons just blow my mind and what’s more they are eco friendly. They aren’t made from latex, but from a material which bio-degrades! Pure pastel perfection I’m sure you will agree. If you haven’t checked out her amazing work already then head to her Instagram feed and prepare to be amazed!

The flowers and blooms are all down to Sally Rose Studio. Sally created a flower arch over the fireplace, vases and also petals and singles on the table. The colours of nature definitely set the scene that provided the glue that everything else was built on…although some would say there is a strong Mini Eggs similarity too! The vintage pink roses were my faves I think…I wish I could persuade Sally to live with me!

The cakes, omg the cakes!!! They were actually works of art rather than cakes. A round of applause please for Bridey’s Cakes.  The colours, the details, the thought behind them and the incredible taste was something to truly behold. But there is also another story to the cakes… the main table cake actually ended up on the floor, smashed… but some might say still slightly edible. I’m afraid there was no way I wasn’t going to try it! (5 second rule!!) If you look closely in the gallery you will notice the moment the cake goes south and the shocked faces of all of those behind the scenes. I’ve never photographed a cake smash before… but I have now!

Party ware and decor were supplied by @otherletters and the gorgeousness they can bring to any event is really magical, check out the dreamy childrens’ table captured on the shoot. Again a pure pastel fantasy and one I would love to recreate at home soon.

The awesome children’s fashion, shoes and those gorgeous socks were all provided by local Leigh on Sea business Other Kids. Check out their fab website for more of their super cute styles and a fab Easter discount! Go GO GO! I’ve actually been so inspired by the knee sock and sandal combo that we’ve just returned from their fab shop laden with goodies for the children for the Summer, it’s a treasure trove of cuteness.

Heavenly Headbands are courtesy of Hannah Marie Magic and they made our cute little bunnies even more adorable. Again these are now on our family wish list and I can’t wait to get ordering for birthdays and any other event I can find an excuse to buy for. I really urge you to check them out.

The venue that Sophie chose for the shoot was the fab Park Inn Radisson Southend-On- Sea. It was really easy to find, perfect for parking and the light was incredible. Super daylight flooded the amazing Pier Suite and I was literally living my best life!

The models for the day were adorable Amber who does best bunny hops in town. Too cool for school and utterly scrummy brother and sister bunnies Sonny and Iris. And Easter chicks and BFF’s Lylie and Sienna just melted my heart. They were all such a dream to work with, really natural and beautifully relaxed, and so in love with in each other! They even kept their cool when the cake smashed… true pros!

I’d love to hear your comments about the blog and if you would like to work with me then please send me comment or give me a call. Creating inspired content is truly what keeps passion alive and keeps us all striving to be the best we can be.

So all that’s left to say is enjoy the pics, eat copious amounts of chocolate in your pjs and hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop!

Thanks for reading and hoppy Easter!

Love Kika x
